Jumping between the islands of Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao can be a
real challenge. I think the reason why Bonaire and Curacao are
still fairly "undiscovered" is because of the effort it takes to get to
those islands.
There is only one airline, Bonair Express, that flies between all
three of the islands. The airline is fairly dependable, but it is
quite a challenge to book reservations. (At least it was as of Oct
2005).
Bonaire
Express has a website which will show the flight schedules, but they
don't have a site which allows for online booking.
We tried booking the flights through travel agents in the U.S. but
were told that they did not accept U.S. travel agent bookings. So
I called them directly in Curacao and made our reservations. The
phone number for the Bonaire location is (+) 599-
717-8581.
They gave me a confirmation number which I then used when I
arrived on the islands. They did not take credit cards or
travelers checks so we arrived with $400 of USD cash to pay for the
tickets. ($200 per person to fly from Aruba, then to Curacao, and
then back to Aruba) Each flight is about $70 or so.
All of the flights were on time and we didn't have any problems
with the reservations. There is another airline called Divi Divi
which we hear is very dependable. They fly back and forth from
Bonaire and Curacao. Their website is
