David Walley Resort

We spent one night at David Walley's Resort in May of 2007. This was a family holiday gift from our parents which included a nice spa treatment for each of us.

The resort is located in Genoa, near Carson City, NV. It is a timeshare resort but they also rent out extra rooms on a per night basis. (This is how we were able to stay there)

The resort itself is very nice. It is located out in the country alongside a beautiful range of mountains. The resort consists of some condominium buildings, restaurant, mineral pools, and a spa.

The scenery was grand. We were there in May, which I don't think is high season, so it wasn't too crowded.

The building to the left is the spa. The spa itself was very nice but it was a little small and dated. The treatments were great. We both had our first facial treatments. It was very relaxing. Mom and Dad opted for massages, which they both said were also quite nice.

The mineral pools were a little rundown. They had about 6 or 7 pools and a few others that were under construction. We didn't like the fact that they allow people to pay $20 for the use of the pools. This makes the pools crowded and it is a little unfair to the people who have paid money to stay at the resort.

The resort is alongside natural springs. The picture to the right shows the hot water coming straight out of the ground.

The Rooms

We had a two bedroom unit in one of the newer buildings. The room was VERY nice. Much nicer than we expected. There was lots of room, a full kitchen, and a nice balcony.

The master bathroom had a Jacuzzi shower which was quite interesting to operate. It was a little intimidating. There are jets facing right toward your face. I hope I turn the right knob!

The balcony included 4 chairs and a gas barbeque. The view was overlooking the marsh/spring area and the valley.

The room was very comfortable and even though we only stayed one night, we could envision ourselves spending more time there.
