Kauai

We spent five days on the beautiful island of Kauai. Kauai is one of the more scenic Hawaiian islands. Kauai is one of the more "green" islands, and for good reason, it rained almost everyday we were there. But it is a beautiful place to lay back and take in the beauty. Kaua'i is known as the wettest spot on Earth. Mount Wai'ale'ale averages 485 inches of rain per year. I guess this is why Kaua'i is known as "The Garden Isle". Kaua'i has more sandy beaches than any other island in the Hawaiian chain. It is also the least populated of the four major islands with a permanent resident population of about 60,000.

Embassy Suites Resort, Kauai

While on Kauai we stayed at the beautiful Embassy Suites Vacation Resort. It is located next to the Hyatt Regency in Poipu.
	The one bedroom suite was very roomy. Our Embassy Suites "suite" consisted of a fully appointed kitchen, living room, kitchen nook, bedroom and large bathroom.
The facility included a nice swimming pool, (lagoon style), complimentary continental breakfast, and complimentary drinks during the "managers reception".
	The Kauai Embassy Suites did not have room service, a restaurant, or a nightclub type bar. But if you want a very nice place to stay while visiting Kauai, we highly recommend this facility.

Kauai is the Garden Isle

Hawaii is one of our favorite vacation destinations. Beautiful water, wonderful climate, and the water is safe to drink. Our latest trip consisted of 5 nights on the garden island of Kauai.
	The "dry cave" north of Hanalei Bay is a nice place to visit. Very large cave that is located next to the road for easy access.
How does the song go? "Blew out my flip flop. Stepped on a pop top"
	One of our favorite little spots on Kauai is 'Anini Beach. It is located near the lighthouse. Nice quiet little beach with some really nice residential homes on the water. There is a day use park with restrooms.
Kilauea Lighthouse is just south of Princeville. It is a very scenic spot and worth the spot.
Waimea Canyon Waimea Canyon is called the Grand canyon of the Pacific for a good reason. It is a breathtaking place. If you go to Kauai you must visit Waimea canyon.
"The Spouting Horn" is a natural blowhole. "Wailua Falls" is the falls from the tv show "Fantasy Island"
