Punta Mita

punta mita

Punta Mita is located in the State of Nayarit, Mexico. It is a small fishing village about 40 miles northwest of Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. The major attraction to Punta Mita is the new Four Seasons resort. But Punta Mita has a charm of its own. Very nice place to spend the day. Great day trip from Puerto Vallarta.

The Four Seasons, Punta Mita

The Four Seasons Punta Mita is an absolute awesome place. Probably the nicest place we have ever stayed. Very luxurious but understated.

The Four Seasons Hotel taken from one of their long private beaches

The Four Seasons Lobby, where you can watch for humpback whales.

The ocean view from our room. The rooms were fantastic.

The furnishing were beautiful and the room very large. Very expensive but very nice.

plunge pool four season punta mita

Our "plunge pool".

The beach was very scenic.

The Four Seasons Golf course is top notch. The third hole on the golf course is amazing. 185 yards to the green over the ocean.

The course was magnificent. Challenging but not impossible.

Shot from the 3rd green. The hole can only be played during low tide.

The 18th green. One of many "ocean" holes.

Sunset overlooking the horizon pool. Every sunset was magnificent.

The Town of Punta Mita

There isn't much to the town of Punta Mita. But if you like to lounge around and drink cerveza, then this is the place to be. Unlike the Four Seasons, the cerveza goes for 8 to 10 pesos. (about $1)

Shown to the right is one of the many Palapas where people "hang out" all day.

Carroll having a cerveza in the shade. We had a nice lobster dinner here for $13 dollars a plate.
