Cheap Things to Do in Vancouver

One of our favorite things to do in Vancouver  was to walk around downtown by the cruise ship terminal.  There is a wide variety of shops and restaurants.

There are bears everywhere?  We had a hard time keeping track of them all.  I think these are the bears that Al Gore talks about leaving the Arctic because of Global Warming.

The harbor area is very scenic.  This picture was taken down near Stanley Park.  Vancouver is such a clean and beautiful city.  The air was so fresh.

I liked this guy.  Here he is, living in a houseboat amongst all of the million dollar yachts.

Vancouver also has a pretty decent transportation system.  We took the Aqua Bus to Granville Island and the science center.  The fare was only a few dollars Canadian and it was a hoot traveling around the island in a boat.

One of the big tourist attractions here is to rent a seaplane and go to Victoria Island.  We didn't have time but thought it might be something we would consider next time.

Vancouver also has a pretty decent size Chinatown.  Chinatown is within walking distance of the cruise port and downtown.

If you have the time you should treat yourself to some beautiful gardens by visiting the Sun Yat Sen park.  It will cost you a few bucks to get inside, but the grounds are beautiful.
